SHELLEY BLOG # 4 WEEK 2

Here in Salamanca, most of the women dress fancy. They are dressed fancy for the smallest occasions like going out to eat or shopping. But on other hand, the younger generation dress very flashy. Majority of the young women usually wear shirts with their stomach area showing and pants with their lower back revealed. It´s so popular here that students are allowed to wear clothes like that in the classrooms. Not only the students wear revealing clothing, the teachers wear them too. I truly think that there should be a cut off somewhere. There should be a dress code put in effect, at least for people with professions. Although, the people in Salamanca seem as if it´s not a problem. I know that it shouldn't be a problem about what people wear to work but something got to change. Now if they really want to wear revealing clothing than can do so after business hours. Well at least that´s how I feel about it. Because in the United States, there is a must about wearing appropriate clothing during working hours. And in my opinion, that should be a worldwide law.


In Salamanca, I think that people drive extremely to fast. It seems like everybody is in a rush. In the last two weeks, I have not yet seen any speed limit signs. I´ve saw various other traffic signs but, still no speed limit one. Everyday when I go to school and stand on the corner waiting for the light to change, I just pray that everything goes O.K. Also, the lights that suppose to help you with crossing, they street are weird to me. On the streets that have the most traffic, the lights seem to change quickier ( approx. 20 secs ). And on the streets with the least traffic, that light has much more time ( approx 60 secs ). Before I leave, I hope to somehow understand how the people here obey their traffic signs. But regardless of what, they must be very careful because I haven´t seen or heard of anybody having an accident.

Me gustan mucho las cosas pequeñas en Salamanca. Una cosa es el sol que se pone a las diez y media. Puedes disfrutar del dia entero. Otra cosa, es que las personas comen con sus familias. Comen almuerzo y cenan todos los dias. Me gusta que los perros caminan sin correaas los perros son muuy simpaticos. Ellos no ladran a las personas. Ultimo, me gusta que a la ciudad es muy silencio despues medianoche. Mas personas son en casa, en sus camas.
